Lessons

  • Patience in the Face of Tribulation: One of the most important lessons in the Quran about Joseph is the importance of Sabbar (patience). Despite being betrayed, enslaved, and imprisoned, Joseph never lost hope in God’s plan. His perseverance was rewarded with success and honor, embodying the Quran’s words: The easy will follow the hard (94:6).

  • Divine Wisdom: The trials and tribulations that Joseph experienced throughout his life were part of divine wisdom. A seemingly unfortunate ending turned out to be for the better. His brother’s betrayal, slavery, and imprisonment led to his reaching the Savior during the famine in Egypt. This reflects the Quranic principle that God’s wisdom surpasses human understanding and encourages believers to trust in His plans.

  • Forgiveness and Reconciliation: Despite suffering great persecution, Joseph forgave his brothers who were trying to repent. His beauty reflects the Quranic value of forgiveness and shows that true believers transcend personal anger and act with compassion and kindness.

  • Chastity and integrity: Joseph’s refusal to accept the temptation of the Egyptian slave woman speaks of his courage and integrity. This incident highlights the importance of maintaining moral integrity even in the face of extreme pressure.

  • Dreams and Divine Guidance: Dreams play an important role in Joseph. The early dreams of both Joseph and the Egyptian kings were important in determining events. In the Quran, dreams are often seen as a means of divine guidance.
